Best build for Lepic in The First Descendant - Charlie INTEL (2024)

Lepic is one of the starter characters you can choose in The First Descendant, so it’s likely that you’ll choose him to be your first Descendant to play through the first few main missions.

So, here is the best build for Lepic, including what Modules to use, the best loadout, Reactors, and External Components.

Module Setup

1Increased GainMP is no longer consumed while Overkill is active but consumes MP when attacking with Overkill and recovers MP when Overkill lands a Critical Hit.
2HP ConcentrationIncreases Max HP and Skill Critical Rate.
3Non-Attribute MasterImproves Skill Power and boosts to Non-Attribute Skill Power.
4TechnicianSignificantly improves Skill Power.
5Energy CollectionLeech MP from enemies.
6Regeneration BoostLeech a small amount of HP from enemies.
7Dual ClawChanges attack and increases Max Module Capacity.
8Strong MentalityReduced Skill cost.
9Range HP CalculatorImproves the range of your skills and slightly improves HP.
10Skill Cost OptimizeReduces Skill cooldowns and slightly reduces Skill Costs.
11Nimble FingersReduces Skill cooldowns.
12Entropy AccelerationSlightly boost Max MP and Skill Critical Hit Damage.

Firstly, it’s important to note that this is the max level setup for Lepic. Secondly, make sure that your Modules are in a slot with a matching icon as this will half the Module Capacity Cost.

Increased Gain in tandem with Energy Collection basically means that you can use Overdrive continuously, ensuring that enemies will give you the MP you need to have increased attack damage and add a burning effect to your Grenade.

Lepic’s weakness lies in his ability to heal and tank damage, so giving him a buff in HP and reducing skill cooldowns to clear enemies out more easily increases his survivability.

You’re going to want to use Reactors that boost Fire, Tech, Skills, and critical damage for Lepic in The First Descendant.

You’ll want to use Reactors that boost Fire and Tech skills.

It’s important to note that Reactors require specific conditions for their optimization. For example, the Materialized Mechanics Reactor needs you to have an Assault Rifle equipped. If you don’t meet these conditions, then your Reactor will give a significantly weaker boost.

The Reactors you choose will significantly impact your gameplay with any given character, so it’s best to use ones that boost your Grenade and weapon damage with Lepic.

External Components

External Components are based mostly on RNG in The First Descendant, so what you have at your disposal will be different each time. However, for Lepic, you’ll want to prioritize External Components that boost Shields, HP, HP Recovery, and Defense.

Especially if you’re playing solo, Lepic can be difficult to stay alive with when his Close Call passive is not active. As a result, you’ll want to boost his HP and Defense stats where you can, and using External Components for this is your best bet.

The best weapons to use with Lepic are the Thunder Cage SMG, Afterglow Sword Sniper Rifle, and Restored Relic Launcher.

Thunder Cage SMG

  • ATK: 18
  • Fire rate: 666
  • Reload Speed: 1.4 seconds
  • Effective Range: 23m
  • Overcharge: Defeating an enemy prompts that enemy to unleash electric shockwave, dealing firearm ATK to nearby enemies within 3m.

Overcharge and the high fire rate are the main reasons why we’re going with this SMG. Using the Thunder Cage with an ability like the Traction Grenade means you’re going to be able to pump an insane amount of damage in quickly, which is exactly what you’re looking for in this build.

Afterglow Sword Sniper Rifle

  • ATK: 240
  • Fire Rate: 66
  • Reload Speed: 2.5 seconds
  • Effective Range: 55m
  • Nightmare Reaper: When hitting an enemy’s weak point, inflicts the unique ability death propagation. On hitting an enemy commander or collossi, increase firearm critical hit rate and apply the effect to the attack.

For a ranged weapon, the Afterglow Sword is a great choice because of the Nightmare Reaper feature. Death Propagation increases reload speed and damage on crit spots, so it’s also a good choice for boss damage.

Lepic struggles with single-target damage when only using his abilities, so using a Sniper Rifle like Afterglow makes sure that you add some variety to his build when taking on difficult bosses and other single-target enemies.

Restored Relic Launcher

  • ATK: 230
  • Fire Rate: 60
  • Reload Speed: 2.5 seconds
  • Effective Range: 5m
  • Ancient Technique: Fires a Guided Round with a set chance. When hitting an enemy with a Guided Round, inflicts Ancient Fire to the target enemy with a set chance.

Lepic’s Tech and Fire skills pair really well with Ancient Technique, which gives an extra boost to fire damage overall. It’s a strong weapon for a Lepic build that will ensure you can clear enemies quickly and do lots of damage to bosses.

Lepic abilities explained

Lepic is a DPS-focused character in The First Descendant that uses grenades and explosive damage to clear enemies. Here are all his abilities:

  • Close Call (Passive):You have a chance of surviving fatal damage in battle.
  • Grenade:Throw a grenade.
  • Overclock:Increases all skill ATK and adds burn effect to your grenade.
  • Traction grenade:Pull enemies into a specific area.
  • Overkill:Fires a powerful shell that is maintained at the landing point and constantly damages enemies nearby.

Lepic’s Close Call passive can help you survive damage that would otherwise be fatal.

Overclock is the only ability where you don’t actively shoot grenades at enemies, but it makes your other abilities stronger while it’s active. Your Traction Grenade is arguably the strongest ability outside of Overkill – which is essentially Lepic’s Ultimate – because it pulls enemies in and makes them unable to move.

Close Call, as we’ve mentioned before, is a great passive ability that makes sure you can get out of difficult situations by giving you immunity for a short burst when you’re low on health.
