She graduated from Plymouth High School and worked for many years with Bausch Lomb. She later retired from Wilkes University, where she had been associated with the education department. She was a former longtime member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church and a current member of the Firwood United Methodist Church. She was a woman of many interests including being an avid New York Yankees fan, the best seamstress we knew and she loved traveling to Atlantic City casinos and Disney World. Mildred will be best remembered as being a kind loving devoted mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who enjoyed spending her time with family.

She was a daughter of the late George and Helen Matuseck Patla. Florence graduated from Kingston High School, class of 1944. She was a faithful member of St.

John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Edwardsville. She was also secretary of the Mothers and Daughters Club of the church. She was assistant librarian of St. John's Bookstore. Florence was awarded the Archimandrite Anthony Repella Service Recognition Award for her dedicated service to the people and parish of St.

John the Baptist. received numerous awards of appreciation by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S., and became a Gold Circle Member. She also received a certificate of "A Patriot of the Year" helping the hospitalized veterans. She was enrolled in the Patriot National Roll of Honor. She also was awarded the Vets I First: Helping our Heroes and Home Guard.

Florence was awarded the Bronze Leader for the Disabled American Veterans. She also supported St. Joseph's Indian School having brought the Lakota children a happier childhood and a brighter future, as well as, the Father Flanagan's Boys' Home. She received a certificate from the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for her outstanding leadership, resident of North Richland Hills, died July 15, 2014, in Hospice Care at Keller Oaks Medical Center. He was born in Exeter and was a son of the late Andrew and Mary Tocheny.
